Life Group Structure
Our new Life Group structure is organised to make it really easy for you to find and commit to a group of like-minded people. There are three main characteristics of our new structure…
Our Life Groups start and finish in a similar way to a college semester. This allows everyone to sign up for groups at the same time, 3 times a year. These are called our sign up months, or Open Months and will take place in January, May and September. We will be encouraging our whole church to sign up for groups during these months, which will make it easier for all of us to opt for joining a group. When you find a group you really love, you will have the choice to stay with that same group/leader from semester to semester, year to year, or you can opt for different groups as you see fit. The only thing we ask is that you would sign up for one! It is our hope that you would find some meaningful relationships with others and a deeply impacting relationship with Jesus along the way.
You will have a chance to sign up to one of a varied selection of groups that we will be offering each semester. These groups will be led by some of our best leaders who will lead groups around their own interests and passions. Because of this you will find that every group varies in its specific area of focus or interest. You will find the times of the gatherings, the places where people gather, and the activities that the groups gather around will be as diverse as the people leading them. There will be groups that study the Bible, groups that read through and discuss a book, groups that meet around a common interest, groups that focus on specific issues, groups that suit specific life-stages, and groups that are well suited for newcomers. Our desire is that there would be something for everyone and that everyone will have an opportunity to opt into community.
We are really excited about the diversity of the groups that we will be offering in the autumn of this year. Along with all of this diversity, each group will have some core principles or common priorities that will link each group.
1) Each group will be a place to have fun. A place where we can learn to celebrate and enjoy one-another’s company in a real way as we make meaningful friendships.
2) Each group will be a place where we learn to care for one-another, that no need goes unnoticed.
3) Each group will be focused on becoming more like Jesus.
4) Each group would be a place where we can receive prayer for our needs.
