Working as a follower of Jesus in healthcare is challenging. We want to bring the healing of the Great Physician to our patients and colleagues but we are limited as to what we can say or do in a professional context. We long for those we serve and care for, as well as those we work with to know the love and provision of the Father.

We long for reform in our workplaces; in our teamwork with our colleagues, for more efficient processes within management and better provision of services with fair access for all. We are crying out for breakthrough, and often what we are doing and feeling, seems like a drop in the ocean. But, we cannot lose hope since God sees our hearts and our desires. He has called us to our workplaces for such a time as this.

By forming this group, which will meet three times a year, we want to create a safe space to encourage each other in what we’re doing. It is open to people working in all aspects of healthcare – hospital and community. Not just nurses and doctors, but everyone; social workers, OTs, physios and psychologists.

We will hear stories of what God is doing in us and in our workplaces. We will lift up those we care for and those we work with, to the Lord in prayer and seek His vision for us where we work. We long to see His Kingdom and power come in healthcare in Northern Ireland!
